Young Doctors’ protest in Punjab enters into 10th day
LAHORE: Young Doctors Association continued their strike today for the 10 days across all government hospitals in Punjab against the Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Reform Act.
According to details, doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff shut down the out-patient departments (OPD) of public hospitals in all major cities of Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, to protest the possible privatisation of the government-run hospitals.
Doctors have also closed the laboratories as well in some hospitals.
As per the official notification, issued a one day earlier, the Ministry of Health has asked for a list of all doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff who are not paying their duties and are partaking in protests.
