Asad Umer contradicts comeback news in cabinet
ISLAMABAD: Former Finance Minister Asad Umar rejected comeback news in cabinet.
Earlier news were in air that Asad has settled to return to Federal Cabinet soon and Prime Minister Imran khan had convinced him for a re-join.
For aligning Asad back to cabinet Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad occupied a significant role in convincing him. Minister for Railway met the Former Finance Minister thrice in the past few days.
According to details, today a meeting was also held between Asad Umar and Sheikh Rashid. Asad then called on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Meeting between the Premier and Umer today has said to be a part of efforts to bring Umar back into the cabinet.
Asad Umar quit last month as finance minister after PM Imran Khan asked him to take the portfolio of petroleum, which he refused and opted to step down. Later on, Dr. Hafeez Sheikh was tasked with the responsibility of running the affairs of finance.
