Sindh CM Summons Provincial Cabinet Meeting
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today summoned an important meeting of the provincial cabinet.
According to details, Sindh CM summoned a meeting of his cabinet to review the ‘Police Act 2002’.
According to sources, the Sindh government has decided to reinstate the ‘Police Act 2002’.
The ‘Police Act 2002’ was implemented in General Musharraf’s tenure but was later revoked by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) led Sindh government. According to the ‘Police Act 2002’, the police will directly be answerable to the provincial government’s and it will be responsible for the transfers and postings of the police officers.
On the other hand, a public safety commission will also be formed and a secretary will be appointed on the commission. The police will be bound to take permission from the public safety commission to register a case.
