Removal of Ministers will not hide incompetency of PM Imran: Bilawal
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that removal of ministers would not hide the incompetency of ‘selected prime minister’, referring to PM Imran Khan.
In his hard hitting speech in National Assembly, Bilawal Bhutto questioned why Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Finance Minister Asad Umar were sacked?
He further questioned why Interior Minister Shehryar Afridi was dismissed?
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser interrupted Bilawal’s speech when PPP Chairman called Asad Umar ‘Educated illiterate’ and called Prime Minister ‘selected’.
NA Speaker ordered to remove ‘illiterate’ and ‘selected’ words for Prime Minister and Asad Umar.
He recalled that “I was called a traitor [in this house] when I was not here. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Fatima Bhutto were also called traitors. Allegations such as these are nothing new for us.
“Dictators like Ayub Khan, Zia-ul-Haq and Pervez Musharaf failed to scare us, then how a puppet government can frighten us?” Bilawal said.
Over the uproar from the treasury benches, Bilawal said, “If I am not allowed to speak, we will not allow prime minister to even enter in Parliament.”
“We will continue to expose their anti-poor policies,” he said. “You have to be accountable that’s what happens in a democracy.”
He said that interior minister of PTI is involved in murder of US journalist Daniel Pearl.
“Are you trying to send a message to the world that we have terrorists and terrorists’ abettors in our cabinet?” he asked. “This cannot happen.”
Bilawal said that the PPP “has been taking part in the house’s proceedings very reasonably” but warned that the ruling party would be in trouble “if we were to resort to protests.”
The ruling PTI MNAs left their seats and chanted slogans after taking exception to PPP Chairman remarks regarding Asad Umar and PM Imran Khan.
