PPP senator Rubina Khalid and other to be indicted on July 23
ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court of Islamabad has decided to indict Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Senator Rubina Khalid and other accused in Lok Virsa corruption reference on July 23.
Accountability judge Mohammad Bashir heard on NAB reference filed against suspect Rubina Khalid, Mazhar Islam, Tabinda Zafar and Mohammad Shafi for allegedly misappropriating Rs 30.13 million in Lok Virsa funds.
In the hearing, the Anti-graft watchdog provided all accused the copies of reference before the court adjourned the hearing.
According to the bureau, the evidence that was collected during the investigation had established that the accused had committed the “offence of corruption and corrupt practices as defined under Section 9 (a), (VI) and (XII) punishable u/s 10 of [National Accountability Ordinance (NAO)] 1999.”
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi on July 1, had filed reference against Rubina Khalid.
