PML-N Supports Participation in JUI Azadi March
ISLAMABAD: The major opposition party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided on Wednesday to attend the Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Azadi March on October 27.
The decision was taken in a party vital meeting presided over by party president Shehbaz Sharif in Modal Town as the meeting participants have the stance that stays away from Azadi March could lead to people backlash, therefore it is essential to attend the march.
Sources said that party will back Maulana Fazalur Rehman all constitutional demands but will not support his unconstitutional demands. The former speaker NA Ayaz Sadiq briefed the committee over his contacts with other parties including PPP regarding Azadi March.
Meeting has also decided to speed up contacts with other parties and decided to consult PPP over the preparation of the march. Meeting has also decided to meet with Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat jail in this connection.
