Physical remand of Shahid Khaqan extended till August 15
ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court of Islamabad extended physical remand of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi till August 15.
The graft-busting body had produced Khaqan Abbasi before Judge Mohammad Bashir after politician’s 13-day remand ended today.
Approving request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the court extended remand of Mr Abbasi.
The PML-N leader who is fighting his case by himself, said in his arguments before the AC judge, that he can extend his remark up to his will.
Mr Bashir adjourned the hearing till August 15 by extending his physical remand and asked him to get a counsel, who can oppose his physical remand in the court.
It is worth mentioning that the PML-N leader is accused of granting tenders of LNG-Terminal to his “blue-eyed individuals” and caused a loss of millions to the national exchequer.
NAB sources said that Abbasi, in 2013, had awarded a LNG import and distribution contract to the Elengy Terminal in violation of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules and relevant laws.
