‘IMF Mission Chief, Razak discuss steps for eco-well being’
Mission Chief of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ernesto Ramirez Rigo and Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Abdul Razak Dawood discussed matters pertaining to bring betterment in Pakistan’s economy.
During meeting, Dawood informed IMF Mission Chief about Pakistan’s current account deficit and steps being taken by country to increase exports.
The IMF Mission Chief is also scheduled to meet Finance Minister, Asad Umar and discuss prospects of a bailout package.
Further, IMF Mission will also meet with a team of State Bank of Pakistan to get a briefing on economic conditions of country.
During two-day discussions, both sides are expected to set dates to field a formal mission by middle of next month to finalise a reform package.
Finance Ministry officials were of opinion that most of policy initiatives would become part of coming budget to sail through parliamentary approval as part of money bill 2019-20 for implementation at start of next fiscal year.
