IHC decides to remove Arshad Malik as Accountability Court Judge
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has decided to remove Mohammad Arshad Malik as judge of Accountability Court of Islamabad.
In this regard, acting IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq has inked a letter to Ministry of Law.
Earlier in the week, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) released a video clip of Arshad Malik in which he was speaking to Nasir Butt, a PML-N worker, claiming that he was coerced to hand down the prison sentence against Sharif despite there being no proof of corruption against the deposed premier.
In this regard, Malik submitted affidavit in IHC in which he denied the contents of the video and termed them as edited, fabricated, aimed to defame him.
Last year, in December, the accountability court judge had sentenced PML-N supremo Nawaz to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.
