I crave runs, not captaincy: Babar Azam
Pakistani star batsman Babar Azam has said, “I crave for scoring runs for Pakistan, not for captaincy.”
In an interview he siad, “I’ve never really thought about captaining Pakistan and have in all honesty only thought about playing for my country. I am not someone who craves being captain and I am more interested in scoring runs for Pakistan.”
“Whoever the board chooses is the right choice and in fact I think Sarfaraz Ahmed is fine and is doing a good job at the moment.”
As before, Azam said that appointing the new leader(s) is the prerogative of the PCB. “The Board will decide who the captain or captains are and the players of course abide by their choice,” he added.
Babar Azam had a stellar World Cup 2019 at an individual level, finishing with 474 runs.
