19-month-old boy died from police bullet in Karachi

KARACHI: A 19-month-old boy, Ahsan, sustained a bullet in his chest, reportedly fired from a police weapon, and died on the spot in Karachi today.
His father, Kashif said that he along with his child were traveling in an auto rickshaw when he saw police personnel firing on University Road. At same instant, Kashif said that he saw blood on clothes of his son and he rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared his child dead.
He alleged that his son died of the bullet fired by the policemen. Kashif said that when he reached at the hospital to get his son treated, policemen from Sachal Police Station were arrived there.
Earlier, a 12-year-old boy had been killed when he sustained a bullet wound on his head in an exchange of fire between police personnel and a suspected criminal in Karachi’s Quaidabad area on April 6.
According to police, a suspect Sher Zaman had opened fire on two police officials in Sherpao Colony. In the ensuing exchange of fire, both the policemen as well as the suspect had received injuries.
