Govt will make effort to create comfort zone for media industry: Firdous
PM’s Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the government will make effort to create a comfort zone for the media industry.
Talking to journalists at a meeting of Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors, government is taking measures to resolve issues of the owners of media houses so that the media workers are not affected and they are paid salaries timely.
She said that the government is going to launch a new media advertising policy to make it compatible with the modern requirements.
The Special Assistant said changes will be introduced in the role of the advertising agencies.
She said the all the stakeholders will be consulted for preparation of the policy.
The Special Assistant also announced that Qatar will provide Pakistan $3 billion in the form of direct investment and deposits.
She thanked Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his cabinet for the announcement.
The Special Assistant said that this will generate new business opportunities in Pakistan as well as reinforce the government’s investment strategy.
She said that this is a first step towards further strengthening Qatar-Pakistan ties.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that this amount is going to assist Pakistan to overcome its financial difficulties.
She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced visa on arrival for Qatari citizens which will develop tourism sector in Pakistan.
She said Qatar has removed the ban on Pakistani rice which is good news for rice exporters and the economy of the country.
