‘Four finance ministers were changed during PPP’s term’, says Asad Umar
Asad Umar criticised Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and said that four finance minister were changed during their tenure.
Asad Umar took a jibe at Pakistan Peoples’ Party in National Assembly and said, “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government confessed its incompetence since the finance minister was changed.”
“Since four finance ministers were changed during your [PPP] tenure does that make you the more incompetent?” Umar asked.
Umar, while comparing statistics said that budget deficit is increasing and might exceed 6.5 per cent this year, during PPP rule, the deficit on an average was 7 per cent and there were years when 8 per cent was also recorded.
“People are concerned that economic progress is slow. Different estimation ranging from 3 to 4 per cent is seen,” Umar said.
“This is not the figure that Pakistan needs. PPP government’s economic progress was 0.4 per cent during their first year but what did they do in five years?” Asad Umar asked.
“Bilawal has not shared the figures. On an average 2.8 per cent was the economic progress during their tenure, something which has not happened in history,” Umar added.
“Bilawal said that the government is incapable and a failure so I thought I should raise the curtain and unveil the truth behind the allegations,” Umar said.
“If the nation sees that everything will be fixed in the future then they will accept the difficult decisions,” he added.
