Darren Sammy enjoying Pakistani food, becomes fan of dress
KARACHI: Fan-favourite Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy continues to win Pakistanis’ hearts with his enthusiasm for traditions and cultures of cricket-mad country.
After visiting Quaid’s Mausoleum last night dressed in shalwar kameez and holding Pakistan flag, Sammy took part in Clean and Green drive aiming planting 10 billion trees across country.
“Chairman Javed Afridi and Skipper Daren Sammy also visited Governor House Sindh to take part in Clean and Green campaign. Both of them planted a tree in Governor House and in their message urged everyone to do same as well,” Peshawar Zalmi tweeted.
Talking to journalists on occasion, Sammy said he was enjoying his time in Karachi exploring local cultures and cuisines.
“I’ve been enjoying culture from day one. I’m enjoying experiences. I want to see fans happy, that’s why I play cricket,” former West Indian cricketer said that he found shalwar kameez really nice to wear and liked biryani.
The skipper also expressed hope that Peshawar Zalmi would win this PSL.
