PM performs groundbreaking for first Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme project today
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to perform groundbreaking for first phase of his government’s ambitious Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme project today.
According to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, first phase will see construction of 135,000 houses across country and five million low-cost houses in next five years.
Federal cabinet under supervision of Prime Minister had earlier granted approval for establishment of a dedicated authority named Naya Pakistan Housing Authority to oversee the project.
Cabinet also approved construction of 1,35,000 apartments under Naya Pakistan Housing Programme. In the first phase, low-cost houses will be constructed in Islamabad and Balochistan.
