A Nigerian girl built clothes-folding robot that fold clothes in seconds
A Nigerian girl, named Fathia Abdullahi, build a cheap clothes-folding robot that can fold clothes in seconds.
Notably, the girl is only twelve years old, so it’s even more impressive that she has created an ingenious machine which will fold clothes automatically once you put them on its panels.
In an Interview, Abdullahi said that she used an EV3 brick, some beams, and pins to build the machine. The EV3 brick, in particular, is a programmable circuit that works as the core of LEGO’s Mindstorms Education robots, which kids can create and program on their own to perform basic tasks.
Though the folding robot that Abdullahi has built is just a prototype, it can fold an item automatically when you place a piece of clothes on it in no more than three seconds.
The 12-year-old creator said that she has plans to further develop this device and wants to sell it to local people through markets with the aim of making their chores easier.
