Foreign company summoned security agencies for Internet traffic monitoring contract
Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat has summoned officials of security agencies on the basis of PTA’s agreement to award internet traffic monitoring contract to a foreign company.
Standing Committee Raises Case for Contracting Internet Traffic Monitoring to Foreign Company Allegedly Operating with Israeli Intelligence Agency by Pakistan Telecommunications Authority Chairman PTA briefed members on a deal with a foreign company Talking to the Chairman of the Standing Committee, Center Talha Mahmood said that the Chairman would not be satisfied with the PTA’s briefing on the matter which would be taken from sensitive institutions.
“We want the facts to be brought to the public and the media so far, millions of rupees have been paid to the concerned company. We have to work very carefully on this matter,” said Center Talha Mahmood. He is indirectly affiliated with the Israeli intelligence agency, which has serious allegations.
